ISO Rating

Most insurance companies use the Insurance Services Office (ISO) ratings of fire departments to establish the amount that its residents and business owners will pay for fire insurance. The lower the ISO rating the lower your fire insurance premium will be.

The Alverno Fire Department has an ISO public protection rating of seven for properties located within a five road miles of the of any Alverno fire station and a class ten for those properties located over five road miles from any of the stations.

The fire suppression rating Schedule (FSRS) is the manual ISO uses in reviewing the fire fire-fighting capabilities of individual communities. The schedule measures the major elements of a community’s fire suppression system and develops a numerical grading system called a Public Protection Classification.

• Engines Companies – Fifty Percent
• Water Supply – Forty Percent
